Educational Safaris PDF Print E-mail

ImageAdventure, cross cultural experience, history, hiking, gaming, mission and volunteer work are some of the considerations for many students wishing to visit Africa. It gets better if the visit is structured in a way that allows the student to learn and thus earn academic credits. Aramati Safaris recognizes this need and has in the past worked with professors to ensure that this is possible.

A safari that earns you academic credits.

Aramati Safaris has in the past coordinated with college professors and group team leaders to ensure that academic considerations are included in the safari itinerary, in effect allowing the student to earn credits upon completion of the visit. We will be much obliged to do the same for your group.Image

Envisaged requirements may vary from organising for internships while in the country, advising on prerequisites for undertaking various projects, ensuring that the guest house/hotel provides a debriefing room and presentation equipments to conduct lectures, sourcing guest lecturers and experts to give public lectures to the group, including work based visits such as rehabilitated street children homes, orphanages, drug rehabilitation centers, slum areas e.g. Kibera , which is the largest slum in Africa or Mathare slums. Planning visits to learning institutions, religious organisations, non governmental organisations, plantations, government representatives, industries or heritage sites.Image

In addition when called upon, we can organize for supervision of the students by qualified professors. This maybe unnecessary if the students are accompanied by their professors.

security

For Aramati Safaris the students' security is priority, We thus select each location carefully and in tandem with our priority. In part doing, we take the initiative to notify the relevant foreign missions, when we have groups visiting from their countries with us and provide them with a copy of the itinerary. This ensures that your group's whereabouts is known to mission at all times.  Our security considerations are further evident in our advise for an accommodation facility, its location, our selection of mature and experienced  tour guide/drivers and the briefing we give the group upon arrival. We in addition take a precautionary medical evacuation cover for each student with AMREF flying doctors to cover them during any Aramati Safaris organised safari outside of the city and at no extra cost to you and your group.

ImageWhen in doubt Aramati Safaris will prefer to involve the security of armed policemen, such as is the case when we take groups for hiking to the Ngong hills, an exciting hiking and breathtaking range of hills in the western suburbs of Nairobi that bequeaths the visitor a panoramic view of Nairobi and the surrounding areas and whose winds and coolness resonates like magic with most clients home weathers.

Accommodation

Image Each year Aramati Safaris undertakes a comprehensive review of the up coming and existing accommodation properties within the country and zeros down on the best for its clients. The client's comfort forms a major criterion in the selection process and and so does security of the area of the property. In addition, we take our client's feed back very seriously and thus use it to form part of our criterion. As a result Aramati Safaris has cemented relationships with a wide range of properties from the high end, mid range to the budget properties.

You and your group can thus be assured that the recommendation we give you based on your budget will most certainly meet your needs.

Transport

Aramati Safaris provides transport at very reasonable rates. Usually we provide 8 seater tour customized vans with adjustable roof tops. ImageWe provide these at a daily rate which can be availed to you upon request. This cost is not inclusive of a driver's daily allowance and fuel. When the group has to travel overnight we require that the client provides for a driver's night allowance to take care of his/her accommodation.

Food

Food is a principal component in ensuring the comfort of the group and the accomplishment of its goals. We thus prefer to develop a menu in conjunction with the visiting group and then advise the hotel. Most groups have in the past preferred to be booked on half board arrangements which accords them breakfast and dinner.

When booked as a group most facilities will provide a buffets. To give the group a cross cultural experience we encourage the team to consider African buffets done differently over the period of stay. However most of these places are in a position to provide an assortment of cuisines some of which may be at an extra cost.

That said and Nairobi being a cosmopolitan city there are various restaurants around the city that can offer a wide variety of cuisines and so do the other major towns of Nairobi.

Health & Safety

As mentioned above each year Aramati Safaris carries out a diligent assessment of relevant service providers. This includes medical facilities within the city and major tourist routes. We then share our database with our drivers to ensure that each driver is aware of the most accessible and best place to receive medical attention should need arise. In addition we usually take up an emergency evacuation cover for our clients at a cost.
